Milon, Mili
A little south-east of Rethymno lies the village Mili, and the gorge of Mili.Hidden in the gorge of Mili is the ghosttown of Milon.
Once a rich village, it was abandoned in the 16th century after an earthquake which caused rocks from the mountain to fall.
The town was best known for it's bread-making. The town is well preserved in this gorge, and you can even feel the energy.
Though when you walk there you don't feel the energy of the panick which you can assume there was when they fled.
You feel the a calm and relaxing energy and you can imagine how if must have been living there.
One house is totally renovated and now serves as a great restaurant with an amazing view through the gorge.
When you go there you have several options. You can enjoy the view in the restaurant, walk through the ghosttown Milon, follow the river down through some fantasy-like sceneries...or walk the gorge itself. Notice that the gorge is not a very easy one to walk. You can however visit the village without walking the actual gorge(if you start from Mili that is).
Besides this HDR photo, I also created a photo-album for Milon. In this photoalbum you will only see the normal photo's made, not the HDR ones. In the near future I'll add the HDR photos.
